Nutriwomen and Sh'Zen win New Product Competition 2011

The 2011 Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Review / IFF New Product Competition (NPC) prize for the winner in the Individual Products category went to Nutriwomen's Anti-Aging Skin Therapy and the winning company in the Ranges category was Sh'Zen for its Sh'Zen Mens range. Along with the winners, two other awards were given: the Packaging Award and the Editor's Choice Award. Six by The Spa Consultants was awarded the packaging prize and the esteemed Editor's Choice Award went to SOiL for its Baobab skin care range.

'We'd like to congratulate all of the winners and thank each and every entrant for their continued support of the competition,' comments Nicola Popplewell, editor, Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Review magazine. The competition started in 2008 and aims to recognise and reward innovation in the local cosmetic industry. This year, entries came from African Extracts, Sh'Zen, Spalicious, Six, Theravine, SOiL and Nutriwomen.

The winners were announced at a lavish dinner at the Fairway Hotel & Golf Course in Randpark Ridge, Johannesburg. The event was attended by entrants, judges, suppliers and local media. The prize for the two winners is entry to the Society of Cosmetic Chemists' (Coschem) annual conference and gala dinner. This year, the NPC had two winners, one for the individual products category and one for the ranges category.

'Every year our judges have found it difficult to judge individual products against ranges and until now we haven't had enough entries to justify having separate categories,' comments Popplewell.
