Bakers wins 2010 Food Review/Symrise New Product Competition

The Food Review/Symrise New Product Competition Awards dinner 2010 was held in Cape Town at the Granger Bay Hotel on the 15th of September. After a delicious dinner cooked by the aspiring chefs from the Cape Town Hotel School, the winners were announced. It was a close call, with literally less than half a point difference between the top three products.

Third runner up was the much praised Cookme, a delighfully packaged range of real foodie convenience goods. Second runer up was Feast-de-Renaissance, with a selection of delectable preserved fruits. And in first place were Bakers Balls, a range of chocolate coated biscuits, proving to be very popular in stores around SA.

The prize was a trip to ANUGA 2011, a food festival held in Cologne, Germany. Bakers decided to present the prize to the R&D specialist of the Bakers Balls products, for whom it will be a first time and once in a lifetime experience!
